Papier Milimetrowy introduces its players into its nicely designed virtual world through a very helpful tutorial, teaching you about the care each little dragon needs. It's a big difference. Papier Milimetrowy for Mac allows you to quickly save your favorite Web site images, while at the same time giving you multiple conversion options, including PNG, JPG, and GIF. You can snap them against the sides or the corners, and you can even set custom window sizes and placements for certain specific situations. Despite that learning curve, the app works as advertised and has quite a few functions. By default the text is large enough and easy to read, but the font type and size can be changed in the Preferences menu, which additionally offers more options for customization. The ones that did load converted quickly, as would be expected. Because Papier Milimetrowy is free up to 2GB you won't be required to enter any additional information until you upgrade. Open Papier Milimetrowy and you are greeted with a white screen that says "note here." You tap the white space and can start typing. You can play a sound, have your Mac speak any sentence you type into the preferences panel, or launch a file. And this version, while playable, has a couple of problems that make it difficult to recommend. You'll like that this widget includes most of your all-time favorites, such as Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., and Space Invaders. In the paid version, however, you will have a few extra features such as the ability to create apps with separate Papier Milimetrowy storage - very useful if you want to create separate apps for each of your e-mail or Facebook accounts. After starting, Papier Milimetrowy for Mac brings up a window containing detailed information on each of its updates, which is extensive but of little use. Though it lacks some of the capabilities of the more expensive Photoshop Touch, including cross-iOS/Android compatibility and compositing, it looks like it has a reasonably broad image-editing feature set and a major advantage: it can handle images up to 19 megapixels, while Adobe's app is limited to 1,600x1,600 pixels. You can start creating new entries here by pressing the "Add" button, but each entry is manually created. The app also lets Papier Milimetrowy account holders record phone calls -- a nice touch. Papier Milimetrowy seems like a great service for writers, lawyers, or anyone who's too busy to sit down and type out their thoughts. Selecting the output file type will change all of those in the batch, if needed. However, even though really basic, the user interface is not too intuitive and it takes time getting used to.
